Bio:Vincent Lecavalier was born on April 21, 1980 in Ile Bizard, Quebec, Canada. After two years of outstanding play, including over 100 points scored with the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Lecavalier was drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He began his career by playing in every game his rookie season and then scoring 67 points during his second season.
Lecavalier helped lead the Lightning to a Stanley Cup title in 1994 and played on, and was named MVP of, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey gold medal winning Canadian National Team. In the two years following the strike of 2004-05, Lecavalier scored over 75 points each year, including a career high and Lightning team record 108 points in 2006-07.
A player with huge potential, Lecavalier has been a two-time All-Star and has played with the Lightning for his entire nine-year NHL career. Through 2006-07, his career totals include 510 total points, 277 assists, and 233 goals.
