Bio:Ki-Jana Carter was born on September 12, 1973, in Westerville, Ohio. At Westerville South High School, he was named an All-American in football while also participating in basketball and track. After high school, Carter decided to attend Penn State University where he had an outstanding career. He only stayed with the Nittany Lions through his junior year, but he still amassed 2,829 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns. In 1994 he helped lead Penn State to an undefeated record, a Rose Bowl victory, was named a First Team All-American, and finished second in the Heisman voting. He decided to skip his senior season and enter the 1995 NFL Draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals made Carter the first overall selection of the 1995 Draft. However, Carter was never able to live up to his expectations when he suffered a severe knee injury in his very first NFL pre-season game. Consequently, Carter only played six seasons in the NFL with the Bengals, Washington Redskins, and New Orleans Saints. He finished his career after the 2003 season with 1,127 career rushing yards, 20 career rushing touchdowns, and 469 career receiving yards.
