Bio:
Adrian Murrell was born on October 16, 1970, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He had a solid college career at West Virginia University, rushing for 904 yards as a sophomore in 1991 and 1,145 yards as a junior in 1992. Murrell decided to bypass his senior year at West Virginia and enter the NFL Draft.

The New York Jets made Murrell their fifth round pick of the 1993 NFL Draft. He spent his first two years playing a limited role coming off the bench. However, Murrell started to show potential in 1995 when he rushed for 795 yards and caught 71 passes for 465 yards. The next season, Murrell rushed for a career high 1,249 yards and six touchdowns. He followed up that performance with back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing years. After his three straight 1,000 yard seasons, Murrell only rushed for a combined 710 yards over his final three years in the NFL. This included 107 rushing yards in 2003 with the Dallas Cowboys after Murrell had been out of the league since 2000. Over his nine-year career, Murrell rushed 1,375 times for 5,199 yards and 23 touchdowns and caught 214 passes for 1,369 yards and 5 touchdowns.
