Bio:
Randy Moss was born on February 13, 1977 in Rand, West Virginia. A phenomenal athlete, Moss excelled at nearly every sport at Dupont High School. He starred in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. Moss won State Athlete of the Year twice in basketball and once in football; he won two state titles in track, and helped lead the football team to a state championship.

After high school, Moss had a turbulent beginning to his college career. His desire was to play football at Notre Dame, but soon after signing a letter of intent to play at Notre Dame he was let go due to his involvement and subsequent conviction in a fight. Moss then transferred to Florida State from where he was also let go due to testing positive to marijuana. He finally found a home at Marshall and lived up to expectations by having an outstanding career. He helped lead the Thundering Herd to a Division 1-AA title in 1996 with over 1,700 yards receiving. The following season he posted even better numbers with over 1,800 receiving yards despite Marshall having moved up to Division 1-A.

Moss was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the 21st overall pick of the 1998 NFL Draft. He was projected by many to go higher, but teams were hesitant due to his problematic past. However, Moss’s career has been nothing short of spectacular. After spending seven seasons with the Vikings, he was traded to the Oakland Raiders where he experienced only ordinary success. Moss spent two years in Oakland and was then traded to the New England Patriots prior to the 2007 season. He already ranks fifth all-time with 108 career receiving touchdowns, and his other career totals so far include 11,251 receiving yards on 710 career receptions.
